Laboratories for material testing and for developing cutting wheels are typical applications for abrasive cutting. Special requirements to be met by the abrasive cut-off machine are a high flexibility in terms of the material to be cut, the ability to appropriately handle the material samples as well as compact and solid design. In most cases the plants are operated semi-automatically from a control desk. Frequently it must be possible to record cutting parameters to be able to evaluate them afterwards as part of the test findings.
